Although our understanding of the World is limited, unlike other animals we are not just passive observers trying to survive. We long to understand who we are, where we came from, and our place in the Universe. We long for significance, a life of meaning and purpose, to know and be known, to love and be loved.
The inevitable question is how do we find that kind of love, life, meaning, and value? Millions have turned to churches, mosques, temples, and synagogues to satisfy their hunger for meaning and purpose. Others have turned to pleasure, fame, money, sex, or drugs and alcohol. Still, others have no clue where to turn.
